Case Study

Case Studies – IT Infrastructure

The Issue

  • It was observed that majority of the Alerts from Monitoring tool were either not handled in time OR the steps which has to be performed are following SOP which are repeated with no real value adds.
  • In order to cover peaks , more people were scheduled in the shift to address situations resulting in Low Utilization of resources resulting in space , Resource & effectively cost.

  • Deployment of Robots to monitor the alerts & subsequent action items basis the defined business rule.
  • Automation of Service Requests – AD access Management, Share drive management, Network & InfoSec device management by the creation of a functional module on top of monitoring tools/devices.
  • 100 % quality management as for there any exceptions, an alert is sent out to the pre-defined DL for action.
  • Robotics Dashboard to monitor utilization & transactions.
  • Reduced TAT & defect reduction in transactions of 1500 critical alerts & 500 SR tickets.
  • Reduced people Dependency for transactions.
  • Flexibility & scalability to handle additional volumes as the business grows (without headcount increase).

Case Studies – Order Processing

Case Studies - Insurance

The Issue

1. Large volume transaction processing is required every month to reconcile, update and manage payments received from Insurance claims
2. Every day the company receives payments for about 50000 claims made

3. The list of payments come as a scanned pdf file from where the data is extracted & labeled.

4.Data validation & manipulation basis the defined business rules

5. Data write back into the system for transaction closure

6.Levers attained were higher productivity, improved quality & reduction in transaction cost

The client was using HIS at different locations but unable to integrate the whole business functionality and centralization of locations.

With the Intent of organizing and managing clinical data better, improving accessibility Indus management decided to Implement hospital management solution in India

A post-assessment was conducted to quantify the various benefits achieved due to the implementation of HMS at India Locations.

Indus Healthcare Group is operating eight hospitals in Botswana ( South Africa )
After the successful implementation in India Indus Group decided to implement the project in Botswana. In a small span of time [ 2 months ] we implemented the project at eight different locations in Botswana.

Challenges:

It’s very difficult to centralize the Master Data as they using the same service with a different name at different locations. But our continuous hard work and training sessions, users understood the benefits of data centralization and starts using common master data with different rates at different locations.

Benefits :

  • The implementation addressed all the pain areas of the client and helped in various processes and operational leaks.
  • Unique Patient ID for all branches with centralized EMR and services.
  • Cross Unit and billing and services for cash and Insured patient both. Means patient can avail services from other location where admitted and finally he will get the Bill from his current unit only [Single Invoice]. This helps a lot when they got the consolidated amount from ECHS or others that can be adjusted to different locations.
  • Streamlining of the workflow processes in all the departments including Finance and HR.

Challenges :

As this is a new hospital so we have to work from scratch as there was lack of system processes and concepts in the hospital, which had to overcome by conducting multiple training sessions and also providing the continuous support from our Team. Another challenge was to feed the medicine stock in a single night.

Benefits: -

  • A fully automated site with minimal printing.
  • Patient waiting time has been reduced by the Queue Management System
  • Fully automation of Laboratory by interfacing the lab equipment.
  • The most benefit has been the achievement of a single master patient index across all facilities and the ability to maintain a consolidated patient electronic medical record containing all information about inmates. So HMS has made the users very easy and secure access to the medical record of the patient.
